Ever catch yourself thinking, “I’ve been so good, I deserve this!” and then suddenly you’re off track?

It feels like a harmless thought and action, but if we're honest, it keeps us stuck in a never-ending reward cycle of eating well and splurging, which can undo progress.

Today, we get into why that pattern shows up in the first place. From childhood conditioning around food as a reward to the belief that healthy habits are something we have to “get through,” it starts to make sense why treats feel like the prize.

What if eating well is already the reward? Better sleep, steady energy, feeling good in our bodies… those aren’t side effects, they are the point! If you feel like you have to earn a "treat" or “deserve” something after being consistent, this might help reframe those thoughts and get out of the reward cycle.
